BROWSER FRAME CADENCE

Refresh rate test

Sample the animation-frame cadence delivered to this browser tab, and compare it with the refresh rate selected for your display.

Sample the browser frame rate

Keep this tab in the foreground for 2.5 seconds. We count the frames per second (FPS) delivered by the browser animation clock.

Ready to start a short sample.

This is an estimate of animation timing observed in this browser, not a direct reading or certification of the display panel’s refresh rate. Background tabs, power saving, VRR, software, and browser limits can affect the result.

For the mode selected by your operating system or graphics card, check its display settings and the monitor’s own menu. Browser cadence can be limited by tab visibility, power saving, graphics software, and variable refresh rate.

FPS in a browser is not a panel refresh measurement

This page times animation-frame callbacks and reports the frames delivered to the visible tab during a short sample. The value can change with the selected display mode, browser load, power settings, and whether the tab stays in the foreground. It does not read the monitor’s electronics or confirm a 60 Hz, 120 Hz, or other hardware mode.

Use the operating system’s display settings to check the selected refresh rate. For visible trails during movement, open the ghosting test; it is a separate visual check. Neither page calibrates the monitor.
